She takes pride in her prolapse surgery skills and have more than two decades of experience in prolapse surgery without using a mesh, which she never had to use for prolapse surgery with excellent results.
She has furthered her knowledge and skills in the field and has a Master’s degree in minimally invasive surgery which has given her the opportunity to not only excellently perform the surgery, but to have the know how’s of what is needed and is best for the women. This includes her laparoscopic, vaginal, hysteroscopy and robotic surgeries.
She has worked as Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology for more than a decade, both overseas and in Australia and this has given her more insight into women’s health issues. She is a Senior Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maitland Hospital.
Azra has a passion for teaching. She is a training supervisor for RANZCOG specialist trainees as well as for GP trainees. She holds a university position with University of Newcastle as well for student teaching.
