Shared Antenatal Care

Eligibility

If your pregnancy is deemed 'low risk' you may be eligible for Shared Antenatal Care.

Step 1 - See your regular GP to confirm your pregnancy and discuss the possibility of Shared Antenatal Care.

Step 2 - Your regular GP will refer you to Antenatal Care and for First Trimester Screening (at 8 weeks). Your GP will select 'Shared Care' on your referral if you are interested.

Step 3 - The Initial Maternity Assessment and Planning Service (IMAP) will review you before 14 weeks and determine your eligibility for Shared Antenatal Care.

Step 4 - Commence GP Shared Care from 16 weeks onwards, if agreed and eligible.
